Walton County Jail Roster Overview

The WCSO site states that the office operates the county jail, serves civil papers and court services, provides school resource officers, conducts criminal investigations, and responds to calls through Uniform Patrol. Sheriff Keith Brooks took office in January 2025, and WCSO lists its main office at 350 Georgia Avenue, Monroe, GA 30655, with main phone 770-267-6557.

The official roster is titled "Walton County, Georgia Jail Current Inmate List w/ Details, by Name." Research captured the XML/XSL field structure but does not reproduce current inmate identities. On July 8, 2026, the report metadata showed a cached date of 07/08/26, time 16:30:02, and total 580. Because the roster is current-custody focused, a person transferred to state prison, federal custody, or another county may not remain on it.

Use the Walton County Inmate Roster

Start with the roster, then use the jail phone or court reference when a release, bond, or charge status needs direct confirmation.

2. Scan the current roster row by last name, first name, middle name, suffix, age, race, gender, and date confined.
3. Open or expand the detail row when available to review incarceration date, scheduled release, housing location, and visitation hours.
4. Review the arrest and offense sections for arrest agency, arrest location, offense description, court, court reference, bail amount, and bail type.
5. Call the jail or the correct court when the roster field is blank, out of date, or does not show final case status.

Walton County Inmate Visitation

Walton County did not publish a full public visitation schedule in the official pages reviewed. The jail page confirms that the jail facilitates inmate visitation and attorney visitation, and the roster template includes a "Visitation Hours" field when present for a specific inmate. Do not assume a day, time, visit length, or video rate from a third-party page.

Note: Call the visitation desk or central control before traveling because no official public weekly schedule was located.

Walton County Inmate Mail and Money

The WCSO jail page describes detailed mail review rules. When mail is rejected or contraband is seized, the item is forwarded to the detention commander or designee for review. If the rejection is justified, the sender and intended recipient are notified electronically through JailATM. If the mail or contraband contains evidence of a crime, it is forwarded to the proper authorities, and neither sender nor recipient is notified of the rejection or seizure.

After electronic notice through JailATM, the sender and intended recipient have three calendar days to request review. The detention commander or designee must respond within ten days, and the reviewer must not have been involved in the first decision. If review is not requested, rejected mail remains rejected and is stored or maintained for records.

Walton County Jail Services

The jail offers commissary services. Inmates may purchase available beverages, snacks, and health or beauty aids once weekly. The official page says only disposable containers and items in disposable wrapping are permitted in housing areas. It also states a $150 maximum per week for commissary purchases and says no inmate may have more than $250 on the inmate account at any time.

Medical, food, and religious services are also described by WCSO. Inmates receive three meals daily under conditions approved by the county health department. Special diets require approval: medical diets by the facility physician and religious diets by the jail commander after confirmation of bona fide belief or practice. Health and medical services are provided by trained medical personnel under physician authority. Inmates needing medical care submit a written kiosk request, and inmate-initiated medical requests carry a $5 account charge, though medical will still see inmates without funds.

Religious activities may include voluntary worship services twice weekly. Requests for conference with ministers for counseling, confession, or religious rites must be submitted in writing. For pastoral visits, the jail page directs contact to Captain Ben Cornelius at 770-266-1543. Personal property left after an inmate is sentenced to another facility must be picked up within 10 days after the inmate leaves Walton County Detention Facility, or it is disposed of according to policy.

County Jail vs State Prison

Walton County jail records and Georgia Department of Corrections records serve different custody systems. The county roster is for people in local sheriff custody. The Georgia Department of Corrections offender search is for people in state custody, not routine Walton County jail inmates. Georgia.gov notes that county jail inmates should be checked through the county website.

Federal custody and bankruptcy court records are separate from both county jail and Georgia prison records. Walton County is in the Middle District of Georgia for federal court purposes, and federal case records use PACER, federal court clerks, CM/ECF, or federal agency systems. A federal prisoner, federal criminal case, or bankruptcy record will not be found by searching the Walton jail roster.
